We did it!
I am delighted that from the 26th August, the number 5 bus route will be diverted to Queen’s Hospital. After years of campaigning, signing petitions in our thousands, lobbying the Mayor of London and responding to Transport for London’s (TfL) consultation, they have finally listened to the voices of local residents.
For too long residents in Barking and Dagenham have got a raw deal when it comes to transport and access to health services. It is simply not fair that people have had to change buses, and travel for several hours, in order to get to their hospital appointment or to visit a friend or relative at their local hospital.
I am so pleased that in just a few weeks, we will finally have our direct bus service from Barking to Queen’s Hospital.
We could not have done this without the support of residents like you.
Thank you for all of your support.
With all good wishes,
Margaret Hodge MP
